SEA ANEMONE
I chose a sea anemone as the subject for my experimental grid book design. A project in which all decisions including the book concept and grid layout were determined through my research of the subject. Each of the books spreads, exploring the features, habitat, and behavior of the anemone, utilize the grid layout in a unique way that is specific to the pages content.

As each page is opened by the reader, it mimics the opening unfurling action that takes place as an anemone expands revealing its brightly colored tentacles.
The book can be transformed into a shape resembling an anemones body, complete with graphics of the oral disc, by bringing the front and back covers together.
